MELISSA Participating in sports activities brings joy to Missy. This seventeen year old tomboy rides her bike, plays soccer and badminton with the neighbors and joined intramural softball. Missy attends a BOCES school program that focuses on functional skills. Her achievements are the result of Missy’s consistent effort to accomplish her goals. Quiet and introverted, Missy gradually blossoms with attention and nurturing care. CORY Initially shy and withdrawn when she entered foster care, Cory has blossomed into a charming twelve year old. Music makes Cory happy and she B-bops to the beat. Cory notices trends and likes to dress fashionably. She likes to be active and can be encouraged to engage in sport-oriented activities. Learning difficulties challenge Cory and she often requires repetition and repeated directions to conquer new skills. Cory and her big sister, Melissa, get along well and enjoy being together. Patience and understanding will be key attributes for Melissa and Cory’s new family.
